MFMG Medical Billing Process

Once off process for new registrations:

  • Doctor to complete MFMG's registration form. MFMG will need a provider number that is reserved only for the use of MFMG's services. This provider number will need to be registered with Services Australia to link to MFMG. (MFMG can assist in this process as required)
  • MFMG will send the Doctor a copy of the engagement contract for review and execution.
  • Once the provider number and contract are returned to MFMG, MFMG will request a copy of the Doctor's patient records for importing into the system, this will take approximately 1-2 weeks to complete the process.
  • MFMG's IT support team will provide remote access into the MFMG system through which the Doctor will obtain their own unique access to the medical software platform and server allowing access Nationally across Australia 24/7.
  • Once records are imported and provider number is linked the Doctor can commence services immediately. There is no fixed term contract.

 

MFMG's ongoing billing process is simple and straight forward:

  • MFMG accounts team will provide each doctor with a billing information template that the Doctor can use to provide MFMG with all the necessary billing and new patient details. 
  • Doctors provide back the billing information via email before or on Friday each week. 
  • Billings are processed within 2 working days once MFMG receive the billing information, however MFMG normally process these faster than that.
  • MFMG complete verification checks to ensure that the Doctor's patient's Medicare details are correct. (MFMG will followup with the Doctor if information is missing such as pension card numbers, etc.)
  • All billings are 100% bulk billed, no exception and claimed electronically via medicare - meaning the Doctor's claims are assessed and paid faster. DVA and Medicare normally process and pay overnight.
  • 100% of billings are directly deposited into the Doctor's nominated bank account.
  • Every month MFMG will send the Doctor a payment summary report to show the billings that have been paid, along with an invoice for MFMG's processing fee.
  • MFMG will register all your patients to MyMedicare (if the patients approves) and will provide Aged Care Medicare incentives back to the doctor.

 

MFMG's patients care:

  • MFMG has a focus on providing medical care from General Practitioners to residents of Aged Care Facilities only.
  • Our patients do not book or attend a GP clinic. Our doctors attend nursing homes where their patients are located.
  • A nursing home resident can contact MFMG and request the availability of our doctors to attend to their ongoing care. This is at the discretion of each doctor and their availability to take on new patients and whether the nursing home is within their geographical practicing range.
  • The patients of MFMG are 100% Bulk-billed Charged.
